E3 2017 DAY 2 : XBOX ONE X, Assassins Creed Origins, and Much More

So, a lot has happened over at Xbox and we can't wait to tell you about it. Microsoft came with a lot of interesting stuff this year, with as much as 42 new gaming titles, including many AAA games, some very anticipated ones as well. Let's not forget the beast that they just unveiled. Here's more about the Xbox Event at E3 2017, the annual, week-long gaming event held at Los Angeles.

XBOX ONE X
Undoubtedly the show stopper for the Xbox event this year, the Xbox One X. Formerly teased as Xbox Project Scorpio, this new advanced and powerful console has been in development for almost a year a now, and is finally ready to be released soon. The specs include a massive 6 TFlop GPU clocked at 1.172 GHz, 12 GB of GDDR5 memory with a bandwidth of 326 GB/sec. All of this present in a chip called the Scorpio. Well, those are some rock solid and powerful numbers. All of these, so that one can experience native 4K resolution, 4K textures and 4K assets as well. All Xbox One games will be compatible with the new Xbox One X, all in 4K UHD format.

The world's most powerful console, as well as the smallest Xbox, even slimmer than the Xbox One S, is to be released on November 7, this year, with a price tag of $499, available in mostly black, while the Xbox One S will cost $249. Microsoft has added a feature called Super-sampling, which promises to deliver better picture quality at 1080p in TVs. The console also has backward compatibility for previous Xbox 360 games as well. All this is great news for console lovers, but given the fact that this costs a $100 more than the PS4 Pro, might refrain it from being a lot of people's choice.

Previous Xbox 360 games to Feature 4K resolution
Microsoft also announced that, most of it's previous titles will be featuring native 4K resolutions by the release of their new console. Games including Gears of War 4, Halo Wars 2, Forza 3 and Minecraft already supports native 4K resolution and Microsoft aims to bring that functionality to most if it's previous games as well. One of the first original Xbox games to get this support will be Crimson Skies. More news will be released later this year.

Forza Motorsport 7 Looks Stunning
The upcoming Xbox exclusive, Forza Motorsport 7 looks sick. The gameplay on the Xbox One X console showcased at the event speaks for itself. The game, featuring a massive array of 700 cars, which by the way is 250 more than Forza Motorsport 6, will release on October 3. The game will be running at 4K 60fps thanks to Microsoft's next gen console. This new franchise looks stunning with dynamic weather and day/night time effects, and the cars at that resolution look almost life-like as well. One of the gems of the game is that it will feature a brand new car, the 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 Track Edition. Hopes are high for this game.

Crackdown 3 is official, and it looks Bombastic
After many years of speculation and teases, Microsoft has finally confirmed Crackdown 3, and has given a release date of November 7, same as the release date of Xbox One X. The explosive shooter looks very gritty and full of heavy explosive weaponry, robots, neon lights and Terry Crews! Yes, Terry Crews is also featured in the gameplay trailer, which heightens the oomph-factor of the game.

New Metro game, after a long Time
Metro Exodus has also been in the talks for a while, and now we finally have the gameplay trailer. This massive open-world post apocalyptic game draws it's strength mostly of Dark Souls styled gameplay settings, and dull and dire looking environment. This game is expected to be released in 2018, and fans are really eager for it.

Assassins Creed Origins The Wait Is Finally Over
One of the biggest reveals of the show was the new gameplay trailer of Assassins Creed Origins. The much awaited game has an Egyptian setting, where players will experience the origins of the group of Magis, who will form the Creed. Egypt has always been considered the birthplace of civilization, and so this game has an apt setting. The main setting of the game features the player as a Magi, whose aim is to eliminate an Oracle and his henchmen, with an arsenal of abilities, quick wit, and a pet bird with whom the player can scope around the environment. The gameplay reveal looked very stunning, with all the RPG-styled, hack and slash based game now has an array of customization options as well. The game is to be released October 27, this year, on all platforms.

Anthem, the game from the Mass Effect Creators
Earlier teased yesterday at the EA event, the new open world Third Person Shooter, developed by BioWare, titled Anthem, has jetpacks. What more could a gamer want. Right? The game has a setting in an extraterrestrial planet, where settlements are guarded by huge walls, from dangerous and humongous creatures. The player is a freelance soldier who explores the outskirts of the wall, with his highly customizable suit called the Javelin. The main highlight of the suit is that it can be made to suit the players style, whether as an agile ranger, or a destructive battle suit. This is more of a co-op game, pertaining to the likes of Destiny. The event showcased the gameplay, with a lot of picturesque settings. However, the game is said to be released in 2018, so gamers will have to wait some time to experience this game.

That is all from the Microsoft Xbox event today. If you missed our article on yesterday's EA event, check it out, here. Stay tuned for more E3 highlights from us Junkies.
