Qualcomm's Quick Charge 4+ Unveiled, Now Faster and Cooler
Qualcomm always had an infatuation of upping their charging standards, making it one the primary selling factors of their Snapdragon range of SoCs. This has been a nice move from the company standing in a time where smartphones are practically pocket computers. They can perform even the most difficult tasks with an ease and on-the-go, with the primary drawback being the battery life. Even the most capable ones need frequent recharge if on heavy usage. The solution which Qualcomm provides is what it dubs, Quick Charge. Now, shortly after announcing QC 4 months back, it now introduces the new Quick Charge 4+ standard.
Quick Charge 4+ is successor to last year's Quick Charge 4, and most of you may find this move surprisingly fast while boasting it on your latest devices. Trust us, there is definitely more to it. Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ has three major improvements compared to its predecessor. have a look:
Dual Charge: This was already present in the earlier QC where it divides the charge current across two management Integrated Circuits, now more powerful. Qualcomm says that it will reduce charging time by 15% and keep your device almost 3°C cooler while charging. The company even boasts that QC 4+ can charge your device from 0 to 50 percent in just 15 minutes.
Intelligent Thermal Balancing: Remember when your phones get quite hot at certain points while charging? That's exactly what QC 4+ is to eliminate. The new feature is said to move electricity through the coolest one of the dual charging paths, eliminating any heat concentration.
Advanced Safety Features: A issue had been the uneven heating of the phone and the connector, putting up a risk of overheating and short circuit. QC 4+ claims to monitor both the temperatures and keep the risks at bay.
Accessories with the new QC 4+ logo would be compatible with the previous Quick Charge, so you need not worry while getting a charger or power bank. But unfortunates, you expect these features on existing devices via software patches. As of now, the first device to come with Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ would be the Chinese OEM ZTE's Nubia Z17. The Z17 will a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset 3200 mAh battery, is expected to release in July.
