The Best Of E3 So Far...

This year at E3, or Electronic Entertainment Expo 2017, we saw a lot of brand new game titles announced and many new games revealed. Also, a lot of gameplay and trailers for popular titles such as Need For Speed Payback, Assassins Creed Origins, Call Of Duty : World War II, etc were also shown at the event. And like every year, the LA Convention Center was filled with thousands of enthusiastic fans of both the consoles and PCs, hundreds of journalists from worldwide, and a massive array of happy-go-lucky gamers, who could make their way to witness events hoisted by big players in the Electronic Entertainment market, Microsoft, Electronic Arts, Sony and Bethesda. So, amongst everything featured, let us count the best new releases and events showcased at E3 2017.

Electronic Arts
EA had a hefty ride this year with a lot of fan-fueled, cringe-worthy, classic game sequel releases, the most cherished upon being Need For Speed Payback, and FIFA 18. After the release of the trailer for the new NFS a few days back, EA now revealed a few minutes of gameplay. They also went on to release a full length trailer for FIFA 18, which had an insane amount of Ronaldo in it. Other than these two heavyweight titles, EA also introduced an expansion pack for Battlefield 1, named, In The Name Of The Tsar. This pack is supposed to feature 6 new, full length, open world maps, including night time. This expansion will also bring a new change in gameplay of such FPS, that is the player can now play as Women soldiers for the first time.

However, one of the biggest reveals this year from EA, was Star Wars : Battlefront II. All the fans rejoiced in the trailer and a couple of minutes of gameplay which also featured glimpses of Darth Maul in action. EA also revealed a fresh new concept of gameplay, a co-op in the form of A Way Out, where it is required two players to control two individual characters who work synchronously to find a way out of prison. Amongst other releases, EA also showed a few glimpses of PlayerUnknowns Battleground, another co-op multiplayer.

Microsoft
This year Microsoft had the biggest hardware reveal in the form of Xbox One X. The largely teased Project Scorpio was now unveiled to be the fastest, most powerful and smallest console ever made by Microsoft. With 6 TFlops of speed and an insane amount of 12 GB GDDR5 memory, Microsoft claims that this console can push 4K games all the way upto 60 FPS. They even showed the performance from their upcoming racing game, Forza Motorsport 7. The game looked stunning with its dynamic weather, HDR video, and high resolution textures, and 700 cars, which might seem tad overkill. Microsoft's another big reveal, a game at par with the power of their new console, was BioWare developed game, titled Anthem. The game was previously teased for the first time at the EA event, and was later unveiled by Microsoft.  The game features an open world setting, and gameplay seemed much familiar with Destiny.  The company also released a high resolution texture pack for Minecraft as well. Microsoft also revealed an action packed Terry Crews powered Crackdown 3 trailer too. Overall Microsoft lived upto their expectation pretty well.

Sony
Now continuing the rivalry came in Sony. Well, this year Sony had no PlayStation 5 or something, although it did discontinue PlayStation 3 after 10 years of production. Anyways, Sony didn't get behind Microsoft just cause it was missing a console release. Sony continued to maintain it's high stature in the console gaming market with a massive gameplay release of the PlayStation exclusive Spiderman game. The gameplay seemed pretty dope, and awesome. Kratos from God Of War was seen continuing his quest along with his son, and never had we seen someone look so bad-ass with that beard. Uncharted : Lost Legacy, with Nadine in the lead, made their way to India this time. Then there was the Days Gone trailer, the much speculated zombie infested game. And then there was The Last Of Us 2, the emotionally cringing survival game, the game that got most of us in tears. All in all, Sony rocked this year too, with less talk and much games.

Bethesda
Although Bethesda couldn't top this years E3 in manners of game releases, they did manage to draw the crowds attention towards themselves, mostly with the help of BethesdaLand. BethesdaLand, the concept which the company teased a few months ago, was much like a theme park with specific centres dedicated to games. It was a hit. The company unveiled an updated Doom VFR, a Virtual Reality engaged version of the FPS sho oter. Then there was the sequel, The Evil Within 2, a return of a much popular horror game. Another such popular sequel released was Wolfenstein II : The New Colossus. And finally there was a new standalone Dishonored game titled, Dishonored : The Death of the Outsider, which we are eagerly looking forward to.

Ubisoft
Without any dedicated event hosted by Ubisoft, still the company managed to retain it's charm, mostly because of one game- Assassins Creed Origins. The game which more than a million gamers were waiting for. Unveiled at the Microsoft event, the game had everything fans had expected with a lot of bonuses as well. With such a strong fan base, Ubisoft's upcoming release had to be compelling to it's fans. Another game released by the company was the much teased, Far Cry 5. Located in a fictional Hope County, in Montana, a land run by a cryptic cult, the main character acts as a resistance, a hope to the people of Hope County, and is also supported by other characters in a subtle yet interesting manner of Co-op gameplay. Then there was The Crew 2. Top marks to Ubisoft to break every barrier. The Crew 2 is just the same like every other racing game, just add anything with a set of wheels and the ability to travel fast. Yes, that's all about the game. It has everything, from cars to bikes to boats and planes as well, and all are pitched one on top of the other to race. Amongst it's other releases were Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and South Park: The Fractured But Whole, as well.

So, this was the best of E3 2017, till now. While all the big players of the gaming industry were present, some stars, or rather some specific rock-stars of the industry were nowhere to be seen. They maybe hopefully preparing for a new release, might as well keep our fingers crossed.
