Ryzen Threadripper : It rips your intel!

Starting up with the Ryzen Threadripper, it is obviously in the power of 4!
Originally intended to be released at the Computex, Jim Anderson couldn't hold back the excitement, just like us, and therefore ended up unveiling it during AMD's final analyst day.Rumors flies around that it was deliberately done, as rumors spread that Intel was also to release the much awaited core i9 CPU at the Computex. You can find more about this right here : intel core-i9 x-treme line up

Coming to the point, the Threadripper is the only consumer-focussed chipset till date. With a line up of 16 cores and a whooping 32 threads(YES! You hear it right, 16 and 32)it is definitely stirring some competitions in the extreme top tiers too!

Being captivated in the monopoly market of Intel for many many years, AMD appeared as a Messiah with its latest releases and developments. We can be "almost" sure of AMD surpassing the Intel's 10-core Core i7-6950X, if the expected results are at par the previous test results of AMD.

So, what do we get in the Threadripper ?!
The Threadripper comes in three variants according to the nature of the beast that you want to put in use.

  • The Ryzen Threadripper 1950X features 16 cores with simultaneous multi-threading for all the 32 threads of compute power. It is priced at $999 on Amazon.
  • The Ryzen Threadripper 1920X features 12 cores with simultaneous multi-threading for all the 24 threads of compute power. It is priced at $799 on Amazon.
  • The Ryzen Threadripper 1900X features 8 cores with simultaneous multi-threading for all the 16 threads of compute power. It is priced at $599 on Amazon.
The base clock speeds and the boost clock speeds of all the processors are all the same, 3.4GHz and 4GHz respectively.the chips are all packed with an insane 64 PCI-expansion lanes! With support for up to 1 TB of RAM and a quad channel DDR4, the chips are by default kept unlocked, so enjoy testers and gamers. The only downside, it wont be shipped with a liquid-cooled cooling system, but dont get mad, they do pack in a standard set of bracket adapters that works with most of the coolers.

Now coming to the use!
Well, almost all of the flagship top tier processors are not used by professionals/gamers.Most of them are either lab tested or just performance tested, due to the exorbitant cost.AMD tries to gap this bridge by slashing down prices, and by encouraging and allowing gamers and professionals to do a wide array of tasks like rendering, compiling, streaming, encoding, compiling and playing all like a breeze!AMD integrates an AMD Ryzen Master Utility application to fine tune your costly possesion.
Expect some insane performance from this humble and powerful processor, and the AMD SenseMI Technology and the "Zen" Core Architecture makes it more efficient, powerful and intelligent than ever!
